Fireside Learning: Conversations about Education

Finalizing initial document, the fruit of a long research, many discussions and blogs, I came to a point where I really need to hear your voices. Wherever you are, if you are an educator, and you care about the future of education, I'll be happy to interview you over the phone.
My concentration is in education grades 2-9.
If you are interested - please send me your email address or phone number in a private message.
thanks.

I am interested, Or-Tal!!!

How should we talk? I'm mostly at home with low-speed right now, so no Skyping from here. Working 9-3 on Farm Camp. Phone call before or after?

Can't wait to hear what your current thinking is, how your project is going.

It's more focused now and I need to check and verify that I am focusing on the correct things. Firesidelearning has been a tremendous help in the process. My home-base.
I can phone to any line - land or mobile, you early morning is good for me.
Thanks!

Let's talk early next week. Email me and we'll set a time. I hope others are willing to talk, too--
You can hear some really cute funny accents from Mike (New Jersey) and Ian (Australia). What other accents can we throw in the mix? (I, of course, don't have any accent at all.) Seriously, I think a lot of people would enjoy talking to you about your project. Want to leave any "teasers" here? What sorts of questions will you be asking people? How can we be of help?

Well, first, I'd like to know who I was talking to. I mean, beyond the profile page and online life...
I am trying to feel the pulse of the community of teachers. Trying to understand the role of innovative and opinion leaders among teachers, in their respective communities. How can they affect the direction, change, methods...
What I want to give to teachers is a platform to improve connections with students to create a wider and deeper and... social learning experience.
(woof, that may sound really vague...).

I'd be willing to talk to you, or-tal, but why "voice" .. this intrigues me.

My dulcet tones notwithstanding, what information do you hope to get from hearing a voice that you're not getting thru the words?

I'm out of your grade range, too, so you might want to put me on the end of the list. I only teach grad school. My phd in education doesn't qualify me for a K-12 teaching license in the US so ... I teach the teachers instead.

Go figger.

I'd still love to talk with you. You are an innovator of education. I love your ideas as I am exposed to them through the net. You might be able to help me better focus my idea.

I don't know if I can help you -- I'm a school board member from South Dakota - not a direct educator, but a policy maker. However, I would be happy to visit with you if my 2 cents would help. -- Fred Deutsch
