Fireside Learning: Conversations about Education

The Greek word eidos (εἶδος) is a singular neuter noun; its plural form is eide (εἴδη).

The word literally means "looks" although it will be translated with a variety of different words in Klein's book: kind, form, species, idea, figure.

You can read the LSJ Greek-English dictionary entry online for eidos.

Barry has shared some helpful notes about eidos and its meaning(s) here!
