Comment by Janet Navarro on October 20, 2009 at 9:42am - great idea for a group. my passions about teaching and learning, about the treatment of children in schools didn't start with my own children, but they have shown up and continue through my parenting lenses, for sure. What's super interesting to me is, how my role as a parent, my interfacing with the school is so different and dependent upon which of my sons (15 and 17) I'm advocating for (or in some cases, advocating for their teachers in my home).

Now that they're older (16 & 19), I am on the other side...I teach high school. I think parent involvement in essential at this age; however, it rarely happens...
