At Fireside, you can share what's on your mind about education.
Recommend Stanford University professor Robert Sapolsky's 2005 lectures titled Biology and Human Behavior as an approachable way for teachers (and precocious students on their own) to learn about the interdisciplinary science of behavioral biology, which explores interactions among the brain, mind, body, and environment that have a surprising influence on how we behave.

Becoming Human: Brain, Mind and Emergence (Stanford University 2003) links to a series of discussions which have been captured on video and shared freely with the public. Sapolsky is one of the participants in this interdisciplinary series.
Permalink Reply by Ian Carmichael on December 14, 2011 at 4:16am What a great collection, Skip. Unfortunately for me, I don't get any mileage from the links, but to have Sapolsky with Damasio, and other key neuroscientists, Philip Clayton, Nancey Murphy and even Australia's own George Pell serves up the possibility of some fine fare, here.
And, for any who travel to the site, spend some time to browse widely - the counterbalance site is remarkably rich in all aspects of science, biology. ethics, neuroscience and a variety of theologies.
I agree on both counts, Ian. Sapolsky, Damasio, and others make for a great forum. And, the Counterbalance Interactive Library is certainly resource full.

Thanks for putting me onto this, Skip.
Claudette, there are so many remarkable online resources available to anyone with a browser and Internet access that everyday can be Christmas. Many of our kids, like we, have discovered how priceless these "gifts" are and are as thrilled when another one is presented to us.

Say, by the way, do you know of a site for adults wishing to improve their computer literacy? Stuff that's second nature to you and me can really slow down others' taking advantage of all the web has to offer.
