And yes, my 4th graders also love that book. :) I think most of them were inspired to read it from first seeing the movie, but sometimes that's what it takes to get children to read! In this case (as in most), the book is much, much better than the movie!

My students are currently reading There's a Boy in the Girl's Bathroom, another one by Sachar.; ▶ Reply to This
