Tell about your involvement in education, and your ideals for collegial sharing
I am a senior in college and have just started my first phase of student teaching. I am a English/Language Arts major with a minor in Elementary Ed. I had some of the best teachers during my school career and hope to pass on their inspiration to my own students some day. I can't wait to begin my journey in the world of education!

Need to be more organized
Love chinese food, hate seafood
Am a big soccer fan
I have a huge collection of children's literature
I was an early childhood teacher in a former life

What are some of your favorite children's books?
Do you fit in time for reading books of your own choosing? Are you reading anything right now. I just finished "A Walk in the Woods" by Bill Bryson and am starting his book, "The Thunderbolt Kid. " I'm also an avid reader -- and writer -- during the summer. Once the school year starts, however, I seem to just work and take care of the myriad tasks involved with raising children.

I think so, too! It's really interesting because I get into the issue of Ebonics where I tutor reading. I'm definitely excited to learn some more on this topic. Have you seen the movie Bringing Down the House? It kind of reminds me of the clash between Standard English and Ebonics...but maybe that's just the teacher side of me always thinking even when I'm watching movies lol. See you tonight!
