Tell about your involvement in education, and your ideals for collegial sharing
I am an EFL teacher who ocasionally works as a consultant and teacher traineer.
I think sahring is the key for learning in this "new" enviroment because it helps us to work in a better and faster way
About Me:
EFL Teacher, Webhead, blogger and mother of three teenagers :-)
Thanks for your reply, it's very kind of you to accept. How to do ? Quite simple ;-) : I invite you and I create a group about Mexico, and from time to time, you check out to answr questions. And if you like it, you can also add post-blogs about your country. And you can correct my very bad english, or learn me spanish: it's a shame for me not to speak spanish when i go to Spain, specially Barcelona ;-). You can also invite your students to join us (we have students from France, Italy, Lithuania, Poland, Romania...) with their teachers...
PS: i can't live without music ;-) and i have to add songs on my play-list. Maybe Ray Baretto or Buena Vista Social Club (i love cubana music, but why not mariachis ? ;-)
Hi Angeles,
You said you are a "newby" to this world, and I'm offering my help so that you can learn to navigate the network. We actually have about 1/4 of the network who are brand new to educational social networking, and I'm trying to figure out how best to help. Please comment back ("view thread" on the bottom of this comment will open up our back and forth exchange) to me about what you'd like to know, and I'll walk you through it. I would appreciate the feedback of how things seem to a newcomer, and what you most need to know. Don't worry, the only silly question is the one not asked! I'd learn a lot from seeing it all through your eyes.
Cheers from Michigan, where it is yucky sloppy snow with rain on top right now! Bet your weather is better!
You come at just the right moment ;-) ! We speak today with my students (Grade 6) about Mexico on the (mainly) european network "School Beyond the Walls" I manage.
We have many members (Judy from China, Donna from Jordan, Tandong from Cameroon, Kwan Tuck Soon from Singapore) from many parts of the world who accept to reply to students' questions. Why not you about Mexico ?
Welcome, Angeles.
I've added a link to your blog "My Learning Zone" to Fireside Learning's "can't miss links" box in the lower right panel. Besides being able to access your thinking at your blog, we'll be able to improve our usage of Spanish. As one who uses English almost exclusively to communicate, I look forward to refreshing my Spanish reading ability, if not conversational skills.
Please start or reply to discussions that most matter to you about kids learning.
Thanks for joining our community of learners.
Greetings, Angeles,
Glad to have you here. Coming from Mexico! (Are you able to get yourself on the map at the bottom of the page? Only if you want--)
Looking at your website, I see you declare yourself an idealist! Me, too.
Yes, this new environment for learning offers so many possibilities for connections.
I hope Fireside is a great place for you to share your thoughts and become involved with a professional (and idealistic, and creative) learning community. Join in the conversations, start your own. Welcome!
