Tell about your involvement in education, and your ideals for collegial sharing
I've been thinking more recently about the relevance gap, particularly for the children I will be working with in the slums in Bangalore. I've been in education for 10 years working between Oakland, Cambridge, and Bangalore focusing on the role of the arts (visual, performing and media arts) as a way of meaning making. I love the ways ideas expand and refine through a collegial sharing process and although I'm not a huge fan of digital conversations I feel that these conversations with other PZ folks are essential for me as a move half way across the world.
About Me:
I am a visual artist and dancer and am currently trying to negotiate a bi-continental life.

Hi Arzu,
Just checking in. Please consider yourself ENCOURAGED to share thoughts here. I see you as an educator-for-our-times, a great inspiring leader. When you get a few moments of time, maybe you can share a bit about your work and the kinds of things you're thinking about.

Tell Todd to do the same, ok? :-)

Hello Arzu,

I am most interested in hearing about your performing and media arts activities with the children in the slums.

..and..about a bi-continental life, I must admit that flying every so number of weeks gets quite tiresome, but quite invigorating to some extent.

So, how about putting some notes up about how things are going, with the bi-continental life? What are you learning about education (in your case, astistic-learning) in two places?
What digital conversations have you had, that made you be less than a fan? We probably can go further, easier here... ning networks are very intuitive and flowing. Have you used ning before?
Let's get some others started up--who would you like to talk to? What subjects?

Hi Arzu,

Yea!!! Good to see you here. How amazing that you're doing all that thinking about and work within the slums of Bangalore-- and how interesting that you've been going back and forth between Oakland, Cambridge, and Bangalore for the last decade. Please, share your perspective on things, and ideas for what we educators need to keep in mind, what we need to do.

Do you have any pictures to share? Would love to see where you travel to, see some ideas in action.

Maybe you'll learn to enjoy digital conversations here on Fireside. It's a pretty open and supportive place to share thoughts about education. Yes, let's find way to stay connected. Please join in on the conversations, and start your own.

Welcome!
