Disney American Teacher Award 1999 Honoree. I retired from Texas Education Service Center as an Elementary Science Specialist for 80 school districts in central Texas. Currently I work part time as a trainer for GLOBE (Global Learning and Observations to Better the Environment) and write with 33 years in education.
About Me:
I live on acreage/in a log cabin 25 miles east of Dallas with a mastiff (Big) and 5 horses. Since I lost my husband, Dr. Dan Wivagg, a Biology Professor, Baylor University, I have retired and moved closer to my grandchildren, enjoy gardening (Master Gardener), environmental work and volunteering, and installed a wind turbine recently. I want to reconnect with the 1999 Disney American Teacher Award honorees through this network.

Is that a Timberframe cabin? Looks lovely. Great dog, too! (Glad the picture-posting worked out!)

Hi Becky,

A log cabin! My dream. I have horses, too: two Morgans. I also have a German Shepherd, some chickens, and 7 cats. Absolutely NEED to be out in the country; it nurtures my soul. I go running in the wild lands around, also take students out into the woods regularly, and emphasize nature education in class. So we have these things in common.

We'll be very happy to hear about your experiences in science and environmental education here. Oh--also, would love to hear about gardening, and your wind turbine! Have any pictures?

Becky, join in on Fireside Learning, share your knowledge, your views, your passion for learning! Welcome.
