Tell about your involvement in education, and your ideals for collegial sharing
I am a high school English teacher in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. I am a Brit born and bred, but have taught in international schools in Belgium and China. I am a keen fan and proponent of online learning--for both students and teachers. Sharing, reflection, and collaboration are key to good practice. What better way to achieve this than online-- with teachers from all over, from all backgrounds, cultural and educational?
About Me:
I am the mommy of two daughters, Hannah and Isabel. This year is dedicated to Isabel (she's just 2) so I am taking a break from the classroom. This is giving me plenty of time (between her tantrums) to think about my work; a reflective sabbatical, if you like.

Hello Dawn,
Welcome from sunniest Tasmania! Please share some of your reflective sabbatical journey amongst us. I think you'll find plenty of opportunity - otherwise: please make some opportunities.

Welcome to Fireside, Dawn. It's wonderful to have you here. I like what you said about sharing, reflection, and collaboration. I hope you will find this a haven of inspiration in your busy life with your daughter, Isabel, and a boost to your reflective sabbatical.
