- Tell about your involvement in education, and your ideals for collegial sharing
- I am an early childhood educator and have been teaching kindergarten for the past 20 years. I value collaboration with people from many different backgrounds -- always attempting to understand more deeply the thinking and learning process from varied perspectives. I believe that many early childhood teaching practices should continue throughout all levels of the educational system and enjoy finding ways to expand this philosophy and methodology into classrooms beyond the primary grades. When I have opportunities to share my thinking with others, I inevitably become more clear about my own understanding and practice.

- I live in Ann Arbor with my husband and three children (17,13,11). When I'm not teaching I enjoy trying to keep up with my children's lives, reading, walking, and working on wacky projects with my friends.

I've heard wonderful things about you from Katie. I'm so glad we'll be meeting both here and in face-to-face Michigan Fireside gatherings.

Recently a discussion was started about Fred McFeely Rogers' work with young learners over his long career in TV broadcasting. Perhaps that's a discussion you might immediately take a look at. But don't ever feel limited to discussing matters which fall just within your specialty. Start or jump into any discussion that matters to you about kids learning.
