Tell about your involvement in education, and your ideals for collegial sharing
Involved in public education for over 25 years as a teacher, coach, building administrator, and now a central office administrator. Sharing is one of the best things we can do as educators so that we can continue to improve all schools.
About Me:
Currently an assistant superintendent for curriculum, instruction, and assessment in a suburban school district near Boston. A member of Cohort XI in the Executive Ed.D. program at Seton Hall University.

Glad to have you on the network, JFD. I believe as you do that sharing is one of the best things we can do as educators; it'll help us contribute to new directions in education, while keeping the best of the old.
There's an article posted in the Michigan Fireside group under "links to articles for discussion." It's right at the top: "Improving Relationships within the Schoolhouse." I've discussed it in several group meetings with a variety of colleagues; it has a way of opening up discussion that has been dormant or repressed for a long time. Maybe you could see what you think--it may hold important implications for administrators, and for all of us. What you wrote in your profile brought to mind the thesis of that article.
Anyhow, greetings, and welcome! I hope Fireside Learning provides a good vehicle for much collegial reflection.
