- I have been in college for 6 years now and am ready to finish and start teaching. I have a seven year old daughter, who takes up a great portion of my time and energy. She has helped me to becomes a lot of who I am today and has helped me to become eager to fulfill my role as a teacher.

Thinking Routines
I have went over the many different thinking routines that have been presented to me in class and I really think that they are brilliant. The idea of routines only having a few steps and making sure that they are easy to teach and easy to learn are crucial in my eyes. I have learned so much in my English 400 class at GVSU, but I feel that thinking routines is something that will stick with me forever. It's always a big jolt to have classes of brand new students looking up at you. It's hard. I grieve those who have moved on....and realize how much work it really takes to bring a class to a cohesive togetherness and to get to know students.....it's worth it! Let me know how classes are going and how you are in other ways too...
