We’ll make it together, if we work as a team!

Gloom and doom are the most dangerous things facing education right now. With all of the challenges and the slaughtering of sacred cows left and right, I’m convinced that the only real sacred bovine is our ability to remain positive and look for solutions.

I liken it to raft-mates facing seriously challenging rapids and my confidence in my colleagues is all I have to hold onto in uncertain waters. I want to say grab an oar my friends because at this point the rapids are no longer an optional ad… Continue

New year!

How cool is it to be starting another year. When compared to not starting another year it seems very cool. I hope everyone has a great beginning! There is always something so great about a new year and new possibility.

Hi Kevin,

I forgot where we left the idea of putting up Driving Questions on Fireside. It'd be SO great... would you consider?

Hey, my kids have so many projects right now we haven't been over to Art Snacks (except individually) lately. Next week is camp, but the week after that we'll be back at Art Snacks cruising around and enjoying ourselves....

Thanks so much for your tremendously valuable network!

Hey Kevin, long time no see! My starbucks, "Tiensa", is doing well, but she is getting older : (. It is a little sad, though she doesn't seem to care at all- she does exactly as she pleases, even more so now that she is the senior (in her mind) member of the family. I will try to add a photo of her here:

We are walking along the Columbia River, later she will catch (and eat!! ugh!) rodents up in the field. As I said, she does as she pleases : )

Hey Kevin, I have admired your pic of Starbuck since my first day on this ning thing- today I discovered who it is attached to (my head is swimming, it is dumb luck I find anything.)

Anyway, our beloved huskie/shepard mix was almost named Starbucks because of how she came to us. My husband went for a four block walk to get us coffee, and came home with a puppy! Totally unexpected and such a joy.

She is ten now, and still such a wonderful treat.

Ay, Mr. Starbuck!

Always remember who is in charge of the ship.

I really do think that's my favorite dog picture, ever. Starbuck seems so soulful and intelligent. I can just imagine taking that dog out in the woods, tracking. Does (s)he know how to track?
I want to get this picture on my classroom wall.

Yes--Kevin!!! We are enriched by your presence. Please share your wild and wonderful ideas, often. And also some cool pictures, ok? I love that soulful dog (Starbucks?) you've got up at CR2.0.
My kids LOVE your Art Snacks site. As I told you, I have to peal them away from the smartboard where they're watching your how-to-draw videos over and over. At dismissal for break, several kids went home with only one thing in their hand: the sheet on which I wrote directions for login and pw to your--and EFL Classroom's--sites. I'm excited to know that a lot of kids will be sharing Art Snacks with their extended family. One girl said, "Can't wait to show my grandpa." Now that's cool!
Thanks for joining. We are grateful you're here.
