I'll bite - here goes. I'm engaged in conversations with principals about partnering for next year with our program, Visual Thinking Strategies, and I'm hopeful that we'll launch six new partnerships next fall in the greater Bay Area. Even with th...

Working primarily as a teacher coach, I've been a teaching artist since the mid-1990s and have been using the Project Zero tools and frameworks for the past three years. I welcome dialogue about practice in urban schools that gets to the heart of how working with arts integration empowers students to inhabit their brilliance as well as become change agents themselves in their communities.
About Me:
An artist/educator, I spent fifteen years living and working in and around Los Angeles before coming north to the Bay Area, my home for the past three years. I balance artmaking in sculpture/installation/drawing with working in art education. I'm enjoying the many charms of Northern California while settling into my new apartment in Oakland and my studio in San Francisco.

Hi Liz,
How about sharing some photos of your work in art education? Also, maybe some pictures from the artmaking exhibitions you referred to in Favorites? Thank you for sharing the news of those exhibits. They sound fascinating.

Hi Liz,

Greetings, welcome, glad to have you on Fireside.
What you said sure resonates--so well-expressed:

"I welcome dialogue about practice in urban schools that gets to the heart of how working with arts integration empowers students to inhabit their brilliance as well as become change agents themselves in their communities." I welcome it, too. Let's get some discussions going!

I'll be out your way tomorrow--going to Marin County for a week. Just love the area. What a great place to be artmaking and working in art education. Sounds idyllic.

Well, join in anyway you'd like on the network. Make yourself at home!

Nice to meet you, Liz. Hope you enjoy the buzz here at Fireside - will look forward to your engagement at whatever pace suits.

I'm an ignorant Australian, so (even though it's been oft-mentioned here, I haven't paid close attention) what's Project Zero?
