I am a Professor, Library & Media Services at Kent State University and aIso serve as a library director at the KSU -Geauga Campus. I teach a variety of courses (English, instructional technology, developmental education) and faciliate several faculty learning communities which serve to support faculty professional development and instructional practices.
About Me:
I read constantly--(you will always find a book or two on me.) I am an advocate of service learning and nontraditional classroom spaces and enjoy figuring out how to integrate some of the newest technologies into my instruction.

My latest research kick is on integrating social networks and social learning into the classroom. Last semester, I taught my course in a wiki. This semester, I am teaching my course in a social networking platform. I love to be outside hiking and if I could figure out a way to teach my class on the trails, I probably would. I am really looking to the potential of mobile blogging.

Hi Mary,
It's been a while since we 'met', so welcome to Fireside. And thanks for joining the 'Fireside Readers' (it's a little moribund at present) - you might also enjoy the 'Florigelia' group for odd bits and pieces.

In any case, all the best in your exploration and participation in this community!

Welcome, Mary.
If you have a blog or website of your own you'd like us to link to, please let us (me) know.
What you've written to briefly describe your professional (academic) interests encourages me to anticipate some interesting discussions which you'll either start or enliven.
Thanks for joining our community of learners.
