I am thrilled to get to know you, and really look forward to meeting you this summer. Wow--there's so much to talk about. I "get" your dream, or anyway, can feel it, and would love to hear from you how it goes with politics and education. I want to hear about the issues of being principled, having integrity... It can be so easy to leave that aside. Gardner has done a lot of investigation on the topic--we'll get to hear updates about GoodWork. I find his investigation quite fascinating. Bought the book but haven't read it yet; it's on my summer reading list. Do you remember his presentation last year about morals in the workplace? (That's way oversimplified, it's more about what motivates people to define and choose the "good" in a situation. And good is not the old-fashioned "virtues" good , but rather the thinking sort of ultimate moral purpose...)
I hope we hear a good deal about your painting, and your running... and lots of things. Hey, maybe we can run together in Cambridge, if there's time. I ran last year. Did you?
Thank you for all these responses to my note on your wall! I hope you join in on some conversations, and also start some... If you have any questions on how to work a "ning," just let me know!
Glad you joined Fireside. Is Maria your friend? How'd you hear about us?
It'll be great to have you join into the discussions. I'd love to hear about your experiences at the American School in Milan, for one thing. Get us up to speed about what's going on with bilingual education at your school--and congratulations on your becoming Deputy Head.
So you're a runner! Kelly is too, on our network. She just ran the Boston Marathon. David is a runner, too, and he's set some kinds of record, I believe. I run, but not like you all. I just mostly plod along on dirt roads by the farm where I live. I play soccer, though.
What Marathon did you run? Also, what kind of painting do you do?
Hope you enjoy Fireside!
