Hey Rod . I think your wonderings are essential. My sense about school culture is that in terms of "re-imagining," we still have to be very based in the here and now. We really can't "know" the future, but already we know that the present is fairl...

Mindy: It is great to think with you again. Thank you. You're right, this is a sound file. I'm very interested in your perspective here. It's interesting to think about school culture. Who carries the culture? Is it the principal, the teachers,...

I got this as an audio file :), so what I heard was that due to budget cuts in the LA school district, the urban area schools were hit particularly hard, losing many new staff members who chose to be in these schools, to replacement due to involun...

Colleagues: Yesterday in Bloomfield Hills at Way Elementary, we were fortunate to think together. The energy of the engagement carried me home, through the night, and into this evening. I'd like to ask you as my colleagues to view the attached v...

Hi Rod,
I was wondering, what do you think of me coming to the event this weekend if I can only come on Saturday? Would that be alright with you all--and do you think it'd be meaningful if I missed the rest of it?
Thanks,
Connie

Hi Rod,
Yes, very interested in Nora Thompson's presentation. Please keep me informed. I am hopeful that I'll be able to attend the event.
Very sorry to hear the school is closing!
PS: Invite her to join Fireside, ok?

Great to hear from you. My picture is from our trip to Amsterdam. It was a great trip.

I would love to visit Key School.

I have the contact information for the Reggio school near Lansing and will send it to you in a separate e-mail.

Getting into trouble together sounds good. There's much to learn and think about!

Hey Rod,
You've changed again, this time from a movie star to to a city. Where is your photo from?
So great to see you in Cambridge. Now that we're back in Michigan, what trouble can we get in together?
:-)

PS: I still want to visit the Reggio schools--or go to the Key School in Indianapolis. Should we get on some waiting lists?

I love the idea of sharing the use of assessment and reflection tools during our phone conferences.

Will you consider serving as the moderator this year? I think that varying the perspectives will keep our group thinking and engaged.

Glad to see you on fireside. I hope your institute was exciting and full of learning. I'm looking forward to continuing our phone study group. I wonder if we can move this year to doing something more with our work. The updates are important, but maybe we can handle updates with email and get to the heart of someone's work when we are on the phone.....
I think the challenges of modeling this work with colleagues is one aspect. How do we use assessment and reflection tools in our own work might be a useful/worthwhile exploration. I mean, we are all at a place where we use assessment and reflection alot to look at other peoples work -- and we get other people to DO it on their work....but are we really doing it ourselves with our own work? Or, with a smaller group, we might want to provide each other with some systematic feedback regarding the construction of our mini course proposals.....

Nice seeing you in Cambridge...and am looking forward to future conversations.

I am just getting into the WIDE chat as well. It is very interesting to learn from people all over the world. I think that people will get more lively as time goes on.

I will let you know about a trip to the Reggio school. It is in Mason, Michigan and part of the Inham ISD. In fact, it is not very far from the Ingham ISD.

Hey, I'd like to visit that Reggio school in Lansing sometime. If you're going again, tell me, ok?
Fun--we're on two networks now, this and the PZ one. I'm just getting my feet wet there... do people get very experimental, lively?

Hi Rod!
Welcome to the network--glad to have you here.
Gosh, you've changed in appearance a bit (just a tad) since I last saw you. ;-)
Please join any conversations you'd like to, and start your own, too!
BTW, us Michiganders have to join forces when we head East!
