I have been teaching secondary art for 27 years. My comfort zone is ceramics/sculpture/3D art. Most of my students are underachievers who suffer from low self-esteem. I watch the magic take place as they are introduced to the clay and they explore a new path to self expression. I am a strong supporter of interdisciplinary and collaborate teaching and learning. Working with the world language dept and the music dept,I have produced a multi-language opera performed by clay puppets created by my students. I hope to expose my students to life experiences using the arts as the thread that sews the crazy quilt.

Terri, I am also a Graham, It was my Mother's maiden name. Have you done any research on the Graham ancestry?

Hi Terri!

It's been a long time --- believe it or not I think about you often. I've been working for the past three years as an educational consultant and have been contracted by the Southern Regional Education Board to work with the NJ Abbott Secondary Education Initiative. Every time I see the signs for Bayonne while visiting the school districts I'm working with, I think of you!

Maybe we can connect some time...

HI, Aunt Terri!

Thanks for the add... Your family loves you too. We're proud of you. I'm inspired by your dedication to education.

My friend, Jack, and I will be in NJ during Easter Week. Maybe we can get together for lunch or dinner. I'll call soon.

Hello Terri,
Welcome to Fireside. Very glad to have you here. How wonderful to think about students having worlds opened to them through art--yes, keep working that magic, it's good medicine for the world.
If you can post any videos of your production, that'd be a delight! Or just tell us about it on your blog or in a forum. And how about some photos, if you feel like it--maybe the cats?
Your enthusiasm shines through your profile page...
