"The leader, Mr. Gill, was very much a teacher. He takes the drummers through a few basic beats, then shows how adding beats or leaving space between beats (very important) creates a rhythm that is easily connected between drummers. He used hand…"
"Why do you think it worked so well. What does a drumming circle stir up or generate or allow that other ideas for bringing a group together might not accomplish at or, or not do as well? I have been doing some games lately. They are OK/so so. I…"

Edtech instructor online, elementary classroom teacher, recently moved into a university position in teacher education. Science/Social Studies Methods, Classroom Management, Teaching in a Diverse Society.

I strongly believe that the standards/testing movement has been a detriment to student learning, as well as a pressure that prevents innovation in teaching. Along with a group of my Learning Technologies doctoral cadre from Pepperdine, I delivered this message first-hand to Dept of Education people in Washington: Jim Shelton, Hal Plotkin, and Karen Cator.

Glad to have you here. I really enjoyed your comments in the Elluminate session on Linda Darling-Hammond. Let's get some similar (but more slow-motion) discussions going here.
Do you have a picture or icon you could put up to replace the orange guy?
Eager to hear more of your ideas.
