- Tell about your involvement in education, and your ideals for collegial sharing
- I would love to be involved in an ongoing conversation with other teachers around the world. Though the challenges are different in our respective schools, I know we can learn much from each other. With my background teaching in both public and private schools, I am passionate about finding ways to make public schools places that are more nurturing and empowering.
- About Me:
- I have taught High School English for the past thirty years--twenty in Dallas' inner city and the past ten at the Episcopal School of Dallas. I continue to work with a group of inner-city youth helping them find college placement. I've been happily married for twenty-five years to a man who has made a great impact on education in three private schools in Dallas. We have two almost full-grown children who continue to light up my life, as well as our beloved goldendoodle Argos.
In 1995 I was awarded the American Teacher Award, and it is through the later award recipients that I learned of this wonderful group.
