ddeubel Tar Heel Reader -- Make a book and win some books!

I am one who usually poohahs "contests" but I've also seen how it can motivate students and even teachers! So just like how I teach - I discount nothing as "horrible". If it works, it works. Connie Weber latest novels... what's next?

Hunkered down and sulking about the weather, I read The Birth House straight through. It was the perfect next novel after Out Stealing Horses. Both books are about the strengths of common people, what they learn through their lives. Somehow I'm reminded of Giants of the Earth, also those southern novels I consumed at one point, composed of simple yet deceptively poetic language: The Dollmaker, Hunter's Horn, and a batch that followed those.
