A Fall Metaphor For Learning

Misconceptions are like leaves in Fall. It is easier to rake them up when they first present themselves as they are still malleable and full of color. Waiting to rake the leaves, like delaying feedback for open minds leaves open the danger of whithering and drying. The older the leaves, the more prone they are to the influence of the wind.
