Do you know flickr is a great science resource? Look at this photo of micro organisms (please click on image, then click again on pop-up for full size, it will be worth it!)

This image happens to come from the
Science Chicago pool, which I stumbled on while looking at something else... can't even remember what now! But you can use the search for groups function to come up with all sorts of interesting things... remember you can put a minus sign in front of a term to limit the search. For example, I searched
science -fiction to get closer to what I wanted.
My second great flickr find, which actually happened a few days ago, is
Tell A Story in Five Frames. I'm still working on how to search through the entries without having to click on each one, but here's an example that makes it worth the effort:

Ok, it's four frames.. the rules state "Five frames or less..." Besides being great conversation and story starters, this is a project kids could produce themselves... a great writer's workshop activity- what elements are important to a story, and SHOW, don't TELL :D
What uses have you found for flickr and the like?
