Marion Brady's article appears in today's Washinton Post

Hi All,

Marion Brady, who I see on Fireside from time to time, has a great article about Race to the Top in today's Washington Post in the education section. Here is the link, it is excellent.

Good luck Connie, I wish I could be there to listen. I am in a think tank that is charged with creating " on paper" the perfect school". We then will explain the road blocks preventing it from happening and we seem to have the ear of some folks who could change things.

Marion had another article on 11-4, did you see it?

Hi Cindy,
Thanks for posting news of this article. I'm using it today in a class; we'll be reviewing the current status of testing in American schools, looking at how storage and use of student test scores is dramatically increasing. We'll be thinking through, from a school leadership side, what we now need to do, in an educational atmosphere that is clearly changing. (For me, nature metaphors help: a scented fog is coming through, probably somewhat toxic, probably emanated by factories. What do we do with air quality?)

I like another recent article by Marion Brady, too, this one.

Wish me luck in my presentation today! I've got all Brady's "false assumptions" written on giant wall stickies... should be a lively discussion!

An excellent article, indeed!

Thank you, Marion, for the thought-provoking article. I'm going to bring it to my grad class today. We'll have quite a discussion!

Can we post it here on Fireside? Marion, is that possible?
