I just got this really cool idea of an educational party, complete with a singer I met at the coffee shop. Bonfire, philosophical conversation, toasted marshmallows, music... Where should we talk about dates?
Hi KT,
Hey, could you post a response to Jocelyn's forum question about what subject should you teach? You'd have such good perspective.
On another note, I was thinking about a fireside at my house... we should talk about possibilities.
Going to Project Zero in two weeks, can't wait. So we'd be looking at mid or late August for the meeting. Interested?
Hi KT,
some questions: Do you think we could get a MiFi going this summer yet? Janet and I are off to Cambridge in 3 weeks; it could be before or after the end of July/beginning of August week.
Also, do you think I should encourage your dad some more to post on Fireside? Has he gotten where he wanted on that article he was working on? (He can post anything, of course, but talked about wanting to do that.)
Finally, really wishing for your voice on the network again; it's been a while. How about starting another of those lively forums you're known for?
Hope your summer is going brilliantly...

Thanks!! So nice to hear your thoughts.
Hey Katie,
Apparently, I'm not getting any of the e-mails that you've been sending out about the gathering on 2/10. I am having trouble with downloading the articles, too. If you can please resend those e-mails, I'd be very grateful. My e-mail is jenshaines at aol dot com. Thanks!
Thanks, Katie.

Please add me to your mailing list although I may be unable to attend the meeting.
Thanks so much for the help. I think I managed to post the poem! Thanks, also, for starting this group. I, too, dabble in poetry and am happy to have a way to complete the loop from inspiration to publication in a non-threatening format (too scared to send poems into the larger world of readers!)
You can post your poem (very nice) by going into the Poetry "group" and then at the bottom of the other posts, there is a link for creating a discussion.
That creates a post for the Poetry group/forum, etc.
I hope that helps.
Take care
Kevin
Hey kiddo! I loved your poem. Did you figure out how to post it in sometimes poets?

Hi Katie,
Check out MIchigan Fireside, a group I started on this site. There I've posted some articles for the meeting--you can pick and choose, and add (by telling me, if you'd like) others.
Great to be here. I am excited to learn about how this works

Hey, Katie!
Yes! We get to "network together." This form of learning and sharing is a blast. As we recently discussed, there's a need for conversation to get going about what has to be done for education these days. This can be a good place for us to post articles about what's on our minds. And you and I can also plan out those "regional Firesides" (as we've called them). There are a lot of very attuned and reflective people here who will help shape the conversations, getting all of us informed and wondering...
So glad you're joining in. How about sending an invitation to your dad? Also invite teachers from Greenhills, anyone else you think would be interested.
(And we don't just have to talk about education. Since I'm on vacation now, I'm all about art projects and novels...got any to recommend?)

Time for you to get back on Fireside! How about a new forum or two?
Missing you, hope to see you soon!

What would you like me to bring for the potluck? I'd be happy to make a dessert, or I can bring drinks, bread, cheese... whatever?
